Unlocker is a simple tool to help remove stubborn files that may be locked by Windows. You may have tried to delete a file when an error message appears such as:
- Cannot delete file: Access is denied
- Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
- The file is in use by another program or user.
- There has been a sharing violation.
This tool will unlock the file so it can be deleted. However you have to keep in mind that sometimes files are locked for an important reason – for more information about how this program can be used and why you should take care deleting locked files, see the Can’t delete files tutorial.
