The new Mac Pro, launched by Apple just last week, is due for a redesign – albeit a limited one. In aid of charity (RED), Jony Ive and Marc Newson created a red version of the world’s most powerful desktop computer, with it due to go up for auction at Sotheby’s in late November.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the black Mac Pro, which CNET memorably described as what could be “Darth Vader’s bin”, the red Mac Pro looks very appealing. Unfortunately, its price tag might make you reconsider. With the original Mac Pro retailing at the jaw-dropping price of $3000, its red version is said to be going at somewhere between $40,000 and $60,000. You may have to reconsider that one…
