A ZTE Diagnostics Interface is a USB Modem capable of high speed mobile broadband Internet connectivity. In cases when only lower speeds are available, it adjusts to the available network speed. It self-installs on PCs run by Windows operating systems. For Macs, they have discs that contain the drivers. Upon plugging it in, it is detected as a mass storage device. After installing the drivers, the ZTE Diagnostics Interface allows itself to serve as a modem.

A modem is a device that enables digital information to pass through analogue phone lines so they can be transmitted to a receiver. This is commonly used to provide connections to the Web. Modems are often connected to computers via USB ports and they usually need a separate power source, making them permanent fixtures in a computer system. Thanks to technology, we now have wireless modems and USB modems that allow people more mobility. A wireless modem allows Internet connectivity to all devices within its range. A USB modem is a very handy device that provides Internet connectivity to both desktop and laptop computers.
