The ViewSonic E70 17†monitor uses the Cathode Ray Tube technology, where a vacuum tube that contains an electron gun and a fluorescent screen are put together, with the electron beam from the source (gun) being manipulated (deflection comes into play) in various ways to create images in the form of light given off by the fluorescent screen.
