The ViewSonic 17GS is a CRT monitor with many features. Its OnView® control system permits the user to have as many as 20 adjustment settings in a single on-screen menu. Included here is ViewMatch® for color adjustments. It also has a Super Contrast screen that displays sharper images and richer colors than what you would find in other monitors. This is a plug and play device that automatically sets itself at the best refresh rate and resolution. The ViewSonic 17GS is certified by the TCO, is energy star compliant and is compatible with both Mac and PC.
In CRT monitors as well as CRT television sets, the front area of the tube is scanned in a repetitive as well as systematic pattern. This systematic pattern is called a raster. By controlling each of the individual RGB (Red, Green and Blue, that is) electron beams using a video signal as a guide, an image can be produced. These beams are bent through deflection, which is achieved by a magnetic field produced by certain coils and circuits driven electronically at the tube's neck.AUTHOR
