This download updates the driver for the USB Smartcard Reader to the latest version as per manufacturers release notes. The GemPcCCID_201_en-us_32.msi driver is valid for all gemalto PC USB SL (HWP108841C) Smart-Card Readers with the following specs;

Gemalto traces its roots back to Micheal Ugon who back in 1977 invented the first microprocessor Smart-Card whilst working for Bull SAS. By 1981 Bull held around 1,200 patents related to Smart-Card technology and in 2001 sold out to Schlumberger who renamed the division Axalto. In 2006 it merged with Gemplus, at that time the leading names in the industry to create Gemalto. Smart-Cards can provide multiple functions, limited only by the amount of data they can store. Current applications range from banking authentication and medical services entitlements to loyalty programs and club memberships. New developments see Smart-Cards go contactless through the use of RFID. As an added precaution, contactless cards can be programmed to allow transactions whilst in the proximity of pre-programmed devices such as a uniquely identified mobile phone.
