The TS -17R from AG Neovo is a 17 inch LCD monitor with touchscreen capabilities. Its effective display size is 17 inches or 342 mm and it is capable of display resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. Due to its thinness, the monitor can be used in places where space is at a premium, and its VESA ( Video Electronics Standards Association) compliant design means that it can be easily mounted anywhere. This kind of flexibility, coupled with its touchscreen features, makes the monitor useful for information kiosks, ATMs etc. The unit requires an external AC-DC power adapter, consuming less than 42 Watts of electricity when in use and less than 2 Watts when it is on standby mode.
The touchscreen of the monitor is based on 5-wire resistive touchscreen technology. Resistive touchscreens are cheaper than capacitive screens and respond to input through styluses and gloved fingers, whereas capacitive screens need to be operated with bare fingers. Additionally, the 5-wire technology adds accuracy as well as longevity to the product, giving it a lifespan of 35 million finger touches. The device comes with a DIN connector (8 pin mini) which helps to establish seamless connection between its touch interface and the PC it is connected to. Its ?Surface Acoustic Wave?
