The ThinkPad Display of Lenovo ThinkPad T61 comes with an inbuilt magnesium roll cage, which protects the screen from physical impacts. The 14.1? screen (with equal display area) is capable of offering WXGA+ resolution of 1440 x 900. The aspect ratio of the screen is 16:10. The matte finish of the display reduces screen glare to a great extent, making it ideal for use in office environments. The screen displays clear graphics without any kind of graininess, even when the user is watching a movie. The outer lid of the display is made of plastic, which allows radio waves (like the ones used in WWAN and Wi-Fi) to penetrate the screen easily, and improves stability of wireless networks in the process.
The display supports WXGA+ resolution, which refers to a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels, that is, 900 horizontal lines with 1440 vertical lines being scanned every time a picture (static or moving) needs to be displayed on screen. The ideal aspect ratio for a screen supporting this resolution is 16:10. All displays supporting this resolution are of the widescreen variation and capable of accurately reproducing colors, making them ideal for watching movies, or working with office applications. Such displays are typically thinner and lighter in weight than CRT displays having a 4:3 aspect ratio, and are mostly used in laptop computers.AUTHOR
