The RTL8201CL chip is a single-port PHY-ceiver, or Physical transceiver, with a Media Independent Interface, or MII and Serial Network Interface or SNI. It can be used for a variety of applications such as those demanding a Network Interface Adapter, an Ethernet hub, or an Ethernet switch. This chip uses a highly-developed complementary metal oxide semiconductor process to satisfy low power requirements.
