SATO DR300 is a direct thermal printer capable of printing documents at a maximum speed of 125 mm/sec and resolutions as high as 8 dots/mm. Fonts can be expanded by the device, anywhere between 1-9 times while printing, without any distortion/pixellation of the letters visible in the printed documents. It also offers various other useful features, such as Zero Slash Selection and Sequential Numbering, which come in handy when printing barcodes, labels, and tags. The device is equipped with a 32-bit RISC processor, along with 9 MB onboard memory (2 x EP-PROM modules and 2 x 512 KB DRAM modules), which allow it to process large print queues. The product can be connected to a PC with the help of a RS-232C (Serial) interface.

One of the features offered by the printer is Sequential Numbering, which allows users to print a long series of sequentially numbered labels without having to enter data for every single label. The sequences can be alphabetical, numerical, or even a combination of both. The user has to design the first label of the series and insert the first element of the series in it. After that, the user can simply instruct the printer (through special software) to continue printing labels and enter sequential codes in those automatically. This feature helps in saving time and reducing effort for users, who need to print labels in large quantities, on a regular basis.
