The Sato CT408i label is a direct thermal / thermal transfer label printer designed to print tickets, wristbands, labels and badges. It features a transmissive sensor and a reflective sensor for gap and I-mark respectively, a 203 dpi resolution and 104 mm print width. It supports several connectivity options including Optional Serial, USB, IEEE1284 Parallel, Ethernet, and Wireless interfaces. A JISZ2801 anti-microbial coating prevents infection spread.
Health concerns related to thermal printers began to develop in 2000 when researchers found the presence of BPA or Bisphenol A mixed in with thermal papers.
