Samsung AA-SK0TKBD USB keyboard is bundled with the mobile computers of the Q1 UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) series. The board is of Split-QWERTY type, and can be connected with the UMPC with the help of an USB cable. It has 39 keys, along with 4 keys that the user can map to different functions as required and an ?Enter? key. The device is meant to help users enter text in office applications, as well as issue a few commands on the UMPC. Being USB driven, it draws power from the USB port itself, and does not require any external power source (such as an AC adapter).
The product supports USB 3.0, which is the third revision of the ubiquitously used USB connectivity technology. This version is capable of transferring data and commands at a maximum speed of 5 Gb/sec, providing nearly ten times greater data transfer speed than its previous version. The most significant change made in this version is the usage of two unidirectional signal paths instead of just one. One of the paths is used only for receiving signals, and the other only for sending signals. This usage of dedicated paths greatly speeds up the transfer of signals, and is the reason for the huge increase in data transfer speed of the version.AUTHOR
