AMD ATI Radeon X1800 GTO utilizes an Ultrathreaded SM 3.0 graphics engine, which provides fast dynamic branching facility when processing and rendering complex 3D textures and objects on screen. The card sports a 500 MHz core processor, and a Memory Clock Speed of 1.0 GHz. It is equipped with 12 graphics processors for handling Pixel Shaders, and 8 for processing Vertex Shaders. The card has a Ring Bus Memory Controller of 512-bit width, and is equipped with a 256-bit Memory Interface (of type GDDR3). It has two dual link DVI connector ports, which allow the card to support a dual-monitor environment.
The card supports Video in Video out (VIVO) technology, which allows users to connect a compatible television set with a computer, and use it in place of a monitor. This can come in handy when the user wants to watch a movie from a disc on a digital television set. Alternatively, it can also be useful for watching television shows on the monitor of a computer, with the help of a TV tuner card. Many modern graphics cards have this option enabled, and provide ports for connecting video input and output jacks. However, additional software needs to be used to enable VIVO functionality of the GPU, since most drivers do not natively support this feature.AUTHOR
