Terratec’s PHASE 28 audio interface is a 24 bit/192 kHz multi I/O recording device that can be used for professional studio recording. The card allows multiple connections with audio peripherals that include mixing boards, amplifiers and speakers, MIDI keyboards or electronic storage devices. It supports 8 analog outputs that can be used independently of each other. The two analog inputs are supported by preamplifiers that can be used to control the converter’s gain. The product has a coaxial jack that supports recording and playback from and to digital devices like DAT recorders or other devices that can process Dolby AC3/DTS signals.
The device supports the PHASE 28 Control Panel software, which offers functionalities similar to the ones supplied with the earlier models of audio devices manufactured by Terratec. The software provides a wide range of controls, allowing the user to fine tune the volume and signal levels of the analog I/O ports of the device. For each pair of output ports, the user can choose 'Digital In', 'Wave', or 'Analog In' as the source of playback. The Analog In and Digital In settings allow the user to directly observe audio signals coming in through a second stereo output, in case the audio sequencer only allows monitoring of incoming signals with high latency.AUTHOR
