The Logitech QuickCam Messenger WebCam enables users to capture videos at 30 frames per second. The resulting video file will be in an AVI format playable on most PC video players. It also enables users to take photos in JPEG, BMP, TIF and PSD formats. The field view of this nifty webcam spans 38 degrees horizontally. It has a CMOS sensor and built-in mic that enables it to capture good quality video, stills and audio.
One of the more significant developments in the advancement of webcam technology is its integration as a built-in component. Approximately at the start of the 21st Century, computer hardware manufacturers started manufacturing webcams as parts of laptop and desktop monitors, thus doing away with the need to use an external USB or Fire wire camera. Eventually webcams came to be used more for telecommunication, or video telephony, between two parties, or among a few individuals, than for offering a view on a Web page to a random public.AUTHOR
