The HP LaserJet 1000 Printer is easy to set up and simple to use, with quiet operation. It is a relatively cost effective and user-friendly printer perfect for home-users with very little computer experience. Just unpack the LaserJet 1000 from its box and you’re nearly good to go. All the user has to do is install the toner and drum cartridge, then connect all the necessary ends and cables and insert the provided CD-ROM. It supports the Windows platform.

Nowadays, laser printers make use of a design that incorporates several parts in a single cartridge (typically, the toner cartridge) in order to make replacement easier. These consumable parts can be gruelling to have to monitor separately, so when this design was first introduced, it immediately caught on, with more and more printer manufacturers turning to it to bring up efficiency. This single-cartridge design is often paired with a printer mechanism that counts how many pages a printer has produced (printed) since the last cartridge was put in place, letting the machine give users a warning when it is time for replacement.
