The HP Deskjet 5940 has an attractive metal cover and is capable of higher speed and greater production capability. It comes with two ink cartridges that provide four HP Vivera inks among them, but the 5940 can accomodate cartridges with bigger capacity compared to its predecessor. The unit can produce borderless prints on sheets as big as 8.5 by 24 inches. This model allows swapping out of the black ink cartridge in favor of an optional photo color cartridge for six-color photo printing.
Numerous types of desktop inkjet printers, as operated in private homes and corporate offices, typically use aqueous inks made from a mixture of water, glycol and other coloring chemicals. These inks are relatively cheaper to manufacture, but are much harder to manage on the surface of print sheets, often needing specially treated paper stock. HP inks have sulfonated polyazo black dye which is widely utilized for leather dying, nitrates and other chemical combinations. Aqueous inks are used, for the most part, in printers that use thermal inkjet heads, because these types of heads use water.AUTHOR
