Most multi-function printers nowadays use laser printing technology. The way this works is through the principle of static electricity. First a laser beam imprints an image on a rolling drum, giving it a positive charge, and then the printer sprays the drum with fine black powder. Because of the maxim that ?opposites attract?, the powder will cling to the negative areas of the drum, not to the positive areas, and then a paper with an opposite charge will be rolled against this coated drum to produce an image on paper.AUTHOR
