The ATI Radeon HD 4600 series combines 514M transistors put together using a 55nm process, PCI Express (2.0×16) bus interface and DDR3/GDDR3/DDR2 memory interface. AMD has given it 320 stream processing units and a maximum memory of 1GB. Microsoft DirectX 10.1 games are supported. While doing all this, the ATI Radeon HD 4600 series also has breakthrough energy-efficient technology providing easier installation and minimum energy usage. It can be compared to fairly high-end graphics cards as far as overall performance and video quality are concerned.

The ATI Radeon HD 4600 series give great video outputs as they accelerate the images of 3D scenes and 2D graphics. A video card or graphics card has different components that come into play for this: a graphics processing unit, video BIOS, video memory, RAMDAC, outputs, motherboard interface, cooling devices and power. Its most important component is the graphics processing unit, which is a dedicated processor that is used to accelerate graphics, making it possible to distinguish 3D and 2D images.
