AMD ATI Radeon X1050 is equipped with 4 parallel pipelines for 3D rendering of pixels, as well as two programmable pipelines for processing Vertex Shaders. The card natively supports PCI-Express x16 slots, but can also be installed in AGP 8x slots if necessary, using an external bridge chip. The card can run games and other graphical applications in 2x, 4x, or 6x Anti-Aliasing modes. It also supports Anisotropic Filtering from 2x to 16x, and is capable of filtering textures up to a maximum limit of 128 taps. The GPU utilizes Hyper Z III technology developed by ATI to render shadows in real time, in games and movies.
The card offers out of the box support for ATI VideoShader technology, which allows GPUs to seamlessly integrate pixel shaders with videos, all in real time. This allows the user to play games and watch videos in high quality settings, without any tearing of textures visible on screen. The device also offers support for ATI VideoSoap technology, which allows users to filter noise from videos captured from any sources. This is particularly useful when watching videos captured from analog television signals. When the user watches such a video, the technology automatically identifies locations with noise and filters those, providing clear pictures and bright colors.AUTHOR
