Plustek SmartOffice PS252 is a sheetfed scanner which has a scan speed of 25 pages per minute (PPM) and boasts of features like single touch buttons and a duplex scanning system, which means it can scan two sides of a page at the same time. The scanner is small in size – 5.8 inches tall, 10.3 inches wide and 5 inches deep, however, it takes a little more space when the trays are unfolded. Because of its small size, it cannot scan anything larger than legal-sized sheets. The product has an optical resolution of 600 x 600 DPI and consumes about 18 watts of power when it is operational. It’s automatic document feeder can hold up to 50 sheets at once.

The product comes with a range of software programs that enhance the overall performance of the device. These include a photo editor (Image Folio 4.3), a scan utility, three separate document management programs and an optical character recognition program or OCR (Abbyy FineReader Sprint Plus 6.0). This latter program allows the user to scan documents and then extract the text from them in an editable format. The device also features a one-touch scanning option with 9 default scanning definitions built into it. It can be connected to a computer through a USB interface and is thus simple to set up and deploy in a professional environment.
