Plug and Play BIOS

This EP-8RGA+ Socket A motherboard has special features that include a Hardware Monitoring Function courtesy of Winbond, Keyboard Power On or KBPO, and Suspend To RAM or STR. On this EPOX Motherboard, the CPU clock settings, CPU V-core settings, Memory voltage settings, and BIOS AGP voltage settings can all be adjusted via the BIOS. It also features Wake On Lan or WOL and P80P Diagnostic LED. Furthermore, it has a Realtek ALC650E 6-channel full-duplex integrated sound to handle users’ multimedia requirements.

For a computer to run properly, the traditional role of BIOS, or Basic Input Output System, was to manage and make sure that the important components of the computer work together. This includes the video, parallel and serial ports, hard drive, and keyboard. A more developed version of BIOS is the Plug and play BIOS, which was introduced in support of Windows 95, one of the operating systems developed by Microsoft. In PnP enabled systems, the BIOS automatically detects Plug and Play devices and configures the settings to accept it without user intervention.
