The Logitech QuickCam Zoom Webcam has an unusual and rather attractive titanium finish. Through its free video and messaging software, you can chat live with your friends and family from any part of the world. One can freeze the frame and take stills, enhance the pictures and send them to friends or post them online instantly. It can zoom in digitally to capture precious moments. Live video chats, calls or conferences may be used with any instant messenger service.
The first known commercially available webcam, then called the QuickCam, first entered the market in 1994 and was created by a U.S. computer hardware and software company named Connectix. This company later sold its entire product line to another U.S. company, Logitech, in 1998. QuickCam was originally designed by Jon Garber, who at first wanted to call it the 'Mac-camera', but was disallowed by Connectix's marketing department, which saw the opportunity of the webcam to someday becoming a cross-platform product.AUTHOR
