Sending of objects such as wallpaper, ringtone, movie clip is now specified through OPP Object Push Profile. This is a basic profile for sending objects. The file transfer is always initiated by the sender to the receiver. The common operations which are used in OPP are connect, dis-connect, get, put, and abort. OPP specifies how a Bluetooth device can push some types of objects towards another Bluetooth device and how two devices can communicate specific information like phonebook, calendar, messages and notes.
A Bluetooth profile is layered above in relation to the Bluetooth Core Specification and , as user specified, additional protocols. In order for the Bluetooth technology to be used it must be paired with other devices so compatible sharing of files would take place. The feature of pairing is governed by the approval of the users to protect security and privacy between devices. A Bluetooth profile is also a part of what determines if two devices can communicate with each other.AUTHOR
