The ASUS F1A75-V Pro is a full ATX motherboard. This unit is an improvement on previous ASUS motherboards because the PCB of the F1A75-V Pro is larger. ASUS was able to add a second PCIe X 1 slot and two more PCI slots because there is much more space to work with. It also features ASUS’s Dual Intelligent Processors 2 with DIGI + VRM meaning it has two on-board chips. One of these chips is the TurboV Processing Unit that offers accurate voltage control and monitoring through its auto tune and TurboV Functions. The second chip is the energy processing unit that helps save system power by monitoring real time system loads.
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) is technology specializing in handling power consumption of all kinds of computers, such as the F1A75-V PRO chipset. ACPI also dictates the relationship of computer peripherals, the operating system and I/O system. Released on Dec. 1996, it only supported 16 to 32 bit addressing space. However, by August of 2000, ACPI was already able to support 64 bit addresses as well as support multiprocessors and servers with 2.0 revisions. To date, from a simple power management system, ACPI has evolved into a far more sophisticated and advanced demand-based power management system. It can now gather information from the computer regarding power consumption, then relay it all to the operating system and thus distribute power to parts as needed.
